Abstract

|
This case study describes the use of family therapy for a family with a runaway adolescent. The family-the parents, the IP, and a younger sister-participated in 8 therapy sessions, which included individual, marital, and family sessions, as well as 3 telephone consultations. The researchers explored the change process and examined whether the therapy was effective, using effect matrix and time-ordered meta matrix to analyze the data. They also graphed the change process in accord with Prochaska and Norcross\¡¯s transtheoretical model. As a result of the therapy, the family changed and the IP returned home.
